Introducing our first group of speakers

I’m delighted to introduce you to the first group of speakers who will be joining us for WordCamp Whitley Bay. They are joining us from around the UK to share their insights on everything from development and design to business and leadership. Here they are:

Sarah Norris

Sarah is a self-taught Software Engineer with a passion for data, analytics, and open source. She has been building websites since 2000 and has been paid for doing it since 2008, with experience in web agencies, in-house environments, and working on SaaS platforms. She specialises in JavaScript and loves front end tech. She currently works for Automattic as a sponsored Core contributor, mainly working on the Editor and block themes. In her spare time, she loves hiking with her dog, traveling, going to gigs, occasional bass guitar, and playing video games.

Ant Miller

Ant has been delivering websites to clients for over 23 years, eight of those in the WordPress space. He’s been a pm, a producer, account manager, product owner, client and commercial director, and worked on sites small and (very) large. These days he’s the Director of Client Engagement at Crowd Favorite, an international consultancy delivering open source enterprise software solutions. Based on the south coast of the UK with his wife and two kids, he’s a keen hill walker, enthusiastic amateur astronomer, occasional sailor, and loyal servant of a dog and two cats.

Konstantin Kovshenin

Konstantin is a WordPress core contributor and public speaker with over a decade of experience in the WordPress hosting industry, building scalability, high availability and fault tolerance into modern WordPress applications. He is the Lead Platform Engineer for Altis, one of the leading enterprise hosting solutions for WordPress.

Louise Towler

Louise is the Founder of Indigo Tree, a digital agency with deep expertise in WordPress websites, technical SEO and commercial performance for clients across the UK. With over three decades of experience in software and website development, Louise is driven by a passion to deliver the very best combination of technology, sustainability and business excellence. She has been recognised as an Innovate UK Women In Innovation award winner in 2022, and spoke at WordCamp Europe 2023 about digital sustainability.

Tim Nash

Tim is a WordPress security consultant with a background in Development and System Administration. He has worked with WordPress for nearly 2 decades and founded one of the very first commercial WordPress plugins. Today he provides security reviews, consulting and training. An active member of the UK WordPress community Tim is also an international speaker who likes to scare and enlighten people at conferences. You can find out more about him at timnash.co.uk
